Summary

Heartsaver courses are designed for anyone with little or no medical training who needs a course completion card for job, regulatory (for example, OSHA), or other requirements. These courses can also be taken by anyone who wants to be prepared for an emergency in any setting. For many Heartsaver courses, students receive a course completion card that is valid for 2 years.

Heatsaver First Aid

Heartsaver First Aid teaches you the basics for the most common first aid emergencies, including how to recognize them, how to call for help, and how to perform lifesaving skills.

Heartsaver Instructor

Equip yourself with the skills to train others in life-saving techniques. Our instructor certification program provides you with the knowledge and tools to lead engaging and informative first aid, CPR, and AED courses.

Heartsaver Pediatric First Aid CPR AED

This course teaches students information needed to respond to and manage illnesses and injuries in a child or infant in the first few minutes until professional help arrives.

Heartsaver CPR AED

Learn the skills needed to recognize cardiac arrest, get emergency care on the way quickly, and help a person until EMS arrives.

Heartsaver First Aid CPR AED

The AHA’s Heartsaver First Aid CPR AED course trains participants to provide first aid, CPR, and use an automated external defibrillator (AED) in a safe, timely, and effective manner.

Course Completion Card

Upon completion of all course requirements, participants receive a Heartsaver First Aid CPR AED Course Completion Card which is valid for two years.

Continuing Education Credits

Depending on which Heartsaver First Aid CPR AED course option you choose, CE/CME may be available for your profession.

Which course is designed to meet regulatory agency or OSHA requirements?

For learners that require a course card to meet OSHA or other regulatory agency requirements, the Heartsaver Total or Heartsaver Pediatric Total course paths within the Heartsaver First Aid CPR AED and Heartsaver Pediatric First Aid CPR AED courses are recommended.

Does the AHA require completion of an exam for Heartsaver courses?

No, the AHA does not require completion of an exam for Heartsaver courses. However, the AHA offers an exam for those students whose workplaces or regulatory agencies require the completion of an exam.
